Eric Hutchinson signs with Warner Brother’s Records

We are back from our SXSW weekend with big news for Eric Hutchinson. He has signed a deal with Warner Bros. Records. From what I gathered, the deal is for his Sounds Like This album, and of course some future recordings as well. There was a nice contingent of people from Warner Bros, but I don’t know where they fell on the Food Chain. They did have 1 sound guy and 1 camera guy shooting Eric at both events hutchead.com attended. I can only guess that the video will be used for web purposes.
What does this mean for Eric in the future? He now has one of the big 4 US music labels working to develop and promote his music, his image, and his future. We might hear him on the radio soon, and with the strength of the music on Sounds Like This, one good hit on the radio is all it will take for Eric to take off. I got no clear answers as to whether a new album is in the works, so Warner Bros might want to spend some time promoting Sounds Like This, while they work with Eric on new stuff.
When I talked with Eric in Tulsa in January, he said that he was ‘talking’ with a label, and that he wanted to make sure he kept control over the music he was making. So I think we can all rest assured that they won’t try to turn Eric into the next Justin Timberlake.
Pics, video, and more reports coming up this week!
Congratz Eric!!!
ps… plans are underway to get Eric’s website going.
